This model is the Matchbox Yesteryear Ford Model T Van (1912) in yellow Taystee livery. It comes with the original straw coloured box. This item is a Code 3 model I purchased to fill a space in the collection.
The model has no opening parts. The vehicle roof is black, the seats are black plastic, the rear door type is Type "1" and it has red rear lights. There is no glazing.
Coded to the 2002 Yesteryear Book
Body Colour: Yellow body & Black chassis
Seats: Black plastic
Steering Wheel: Black plastic
Wheel Hubs: 12 spoke, red plastic
Plated Parts: Gold colour
Box Type: I - straw coloured box
Other Comments/Identifying Features: The model has red Type 1 rear doors (single line tampo), red rear lights, and carries new side decals. The decals are the small Taystee decals whereas the original code 1 model has large decals. The remnants of the Coleman's Mustard signage can just be seen when the model is held in the right light. The base plate is held in place by its original three machined rivets, indicating the model was not disassembled and probably used a Y12-3-B-1 donor model.
Originally issued in 1979 with a stated scale of 1:35, I have been unable to determine when this model was produced, but believe it may have been circa 2010.
