This model is the Glam Toy Products GTP-552 Tour Coach in GTP Tours/GTP Motorways livery of dark blue, red, and yellow.
The model has a one-piece, pressed metal body, 123mm in length. It has been shaped with rudimentary representations of the body lines but unlike the 555 coach there is no ridged roof line - it is only printed on to the body. There is no glazing - all the features are litho-printed onto the body. At the front are representations of the windows with driver and windscreen wipers. To the sides the passengers can be seen, one in each window. The lower sides are in red with green wheel arch 'covers' and yellow "GTP Motorways" lettering, while the upper body is in dark blue. The roof is predominantly dark blue with a red ridge line and "G.T.P. Tours" in black lettering on a white background above the front window. The rear bears the legend "Made in England" above the rudimentary luggage doors with a numberplate below the doors with black lettering reading "G.T.P. 552".
The original two part, pressed tin wheels are still on the model , mounted on steel axles with crimped ends.
The baseplate is a single piece, pressed tin unit shaped with a strengthening panel down the centre line. It has been press fitted to the body and the edges rolled to hold it over the edges of the body. It incorporates the front grille and appears to have been plated in a silver coating which on this model has worn off over time. There are no manufacturer's marks or country of origin details on the base.
I do not know exactly when this item was issued but believe it to be between 1950 and 1959.
