This model is the Dinky 822-F-1 M3 Half Track in Dull Olive. This model came with its original yellow card box.
The model features no opening parts as is common for the period and all features are cast into the body casting. At the front the grille, bumper, winch, and lights are cast into the body with only the winch being picked out in silver. To the right is a military insignia/flag. The cab area is quite detailed and shows the doors, fuel cans (on both sides) and other detail, including the driver's seat and gunners turret and seat. The rear tray is also lightly detailed on the outside and has two long benches cast inside, undrilled for army personnel (which were sold separately as accessories at the time). There is no interior and no glazing. The rear of the model is devoid of lights but carries an identical military insignia/flag to the front, on the rear left of the body.
The front wheels are of the cast metal type - solid one piece cast metal hubs, with a separate black rubber tyre on steel axles. The rear track rollers are also of cast metal on steel axles, with the four bottom rollers attached to a tin frame by pins that pass through the tin, the roller, and into the body casting. Black rubber tracks complete the rear track-driven system.
The cab base plate is black metal and is marked "822, Half Track" on two lines below the cab doors and is held in place by a single machined rivet. The underside of the truck rear is marked with Dinky Toys at the top, "Meccano" in the centre and "Made in France" at the bottom.
