This model is the Corgi 57201 Mazda B1600 Pickup in red Fire Chief livery. The vehicle carries Fire Chief logos in white and gold on both side doors and on the bonnet.
The pickup has no opening parts other than the rear tailgate on the pickup.The main pickup casting is in one piece with the pickup cab guard (behind the cab) a separate metal casting. Added to the rear is a separate casting for the hydraulic "cherry picker" in red and black. The grille and lights are part of the base plate with lights and number plate picked out in silver. The Mazda lettering on the bonnet and tail gate is also picked out in silver.
The interior is black plastic with a right hand drive, black plastic steering wheel and dashboard (instrument panel). The cab glazing is clear without the usual representation of windscreen wipers.
All wheels are of the "speed wheel" type - hollow one piece plastic with a "chromed" patterned "hub" in the center.
The base plate is black plastic and is marked in front of the front wheels "Scale 1/36", corgi at the centre middle and at the bottom centre "Mazda B1600 Pickup". At the rear of the base is molded "Patent No. 1278081". It is held in place with four machined rivets. The fifth machined rivet fixes the cherry picker to the rear deck.
This model was issued between January 1996 and the dark blue packaging is marked "Working Features". Its scale was said to be 1:36.
